Hi, my name is Troy Tetreault

I’m a writer, scientist, naturalist, and enthusiastic recreator in wild spaces, particularly in the Adirondacks of Upstate New York. I’ve spent time outdoors all across the country, from the Beartooth Plateau in Montana/Wyoming for alpine ecology research, to the deserts of Utah and the highest summits in the Rocky Mountains. Along the way, I’ve grown my love for ecological sciences and outdoor recreation, and developed a writing style that allows me to tell the stories of those areas of my life.

I’ve primarily spent my time outdoors in the Adirondacks, working for the Adirondack Mountain Club (ADK) and the Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism (ROOST). In addition to being a 46er multiple times over, I was also one of the youngest people to complete the Adirondack High Peaks Redline, where I hiked every mile of marked trail, truck & horse trail, and every significant herd path in the High Peaks Wilderness Area.

If you are interested in working with me on a story, or want to learn more about outdoor recreation, natural science, or the Adirondacks, please reach out!
